Yoshi Crochet Pattern

Happy first of the month!

This month I am pleased to bring you the first instalment from my Phase 4 Super Mario characters – Yoshi! This phase will have the main Super Mario characters, which in total will contain the patterns for:

  • Yoshi
  • Mario
  • Luigi
  • Princess Peach
  • Daisy
  • Baby Bowser
  • Bowser

Yoshi was very fun to make and like with all my amigurumi I just loved watching him come to life. I contemplated whether or not to include fingers with this design and ultimately I think the fingers were a good decision because it adds that additional detail that makes Yoshi more realistic. For this pattern, I used the base pattern for Birdo (the body and tail, eyes and leg). I just made a slight modification to the eyes and the foot part of the leg pattern. The rest of the pattern was fairly straight forward with the most complicated part being the hands.

The approximate measurements using DK yarn and 3mm hook are 7.5 inches height, 6.5 inches width (arm span) and 6 inches length/depth.

Without further delay just scroll for the Yoshi pattern below…
