This monthโs Mini tier pattern is Pumbaa the warthog from The Lion King.
The hardest part about making Pumbaa was breaking down the head and figuring out how to approach it. It was made harder by the fact that I wanted him to have an open mouth. It took a bit of trial and error, and I would probably approach it a little bit differently if I make it again - the body and the head would be done separately and the features built up in my usual way.
For the nose I would have preferred a darker dustier pink, however, it seemed a bit pointless to buy by a whole 100g skein just for 1g of yarn. Fortunately, the baby pink colour I used still looks good and it ties in well altogether.
The brown yarn I used for Pumbaa is not my favourite yarn, although being DK once you start crocheting it is on the thin side. The brand is King Cole, and I have never been a fan of the quality with is why I stopped buying it, but this brown was the best colour I had in my stash. So just keep in mind that your overall measurement may be slightly larger if you use a decent quality yarn.
If you want to you can wire Pumbaaโs legs for some added stability. Fortunately, I did not have to because I stuffed his legs firmly enough.
Pumbaaโs overall measurements are approximately 7 inches / 17cm long, 4.5 inches / 12cm tall and 4 inches / 10cm wide (at the widest point).

DK acrylic yarn in reddish brown, dark brown, black, pink and cream.
2.5mm crochet hook
Yarn needle
Fire retardant fibrefill
Felt glue
Scissors
tan, white, black and red or pink (for tongue) felt
Wire brush (OPTIONAL โ to brush out the hair)
Craft wire and pliers (OPTIONAL โ for leg support)

SC โ single crochet (double crochet English)

CH1T โ chain a stitch then turn your work

OFFSET โ a term I use when adding or taking away additional stitches in order to line up or get the right placement
= # ROWS โ repeat the stitch sequence for the row the specified number of times e.g. 32SC (32) = 5 ROWS
