Happy May!

This monthโ€™s Mini Tier pattern is Rafiki the Mandrill Monkey from The Lion King.

As a child watching The Lion King, Rafiki was my favourite character in this movieโ€ฆand I think he still is. He is the right amount of wacky and fun โ€“ whatโ€™s not to love!

Though I enjoy making everything I crochet, Rafiki being my favourite character in this set made this monthโ€™s pattern extra enjoyable. It was also an added bonus being able to incorporate some mixed media into this project. I got to bring out the fur trim (for his hair and beard) and some white craft foam (for his teeth).

Rafiki needs a wire to support his neck, but it is optional for the arms and legs. I opted to wire the legs so that he could stand him up or sit him down with his legs crossed when posing for pictures.

Rafikiโ€™s overall measurements are approximately 9 inches / 23cm tall and 4 inches / 10cm wide (at the widest point).

IMPORTANT NOTE Just a quick note to let you know that my crochet patterns are typically shared as posts rather than PDFs, unless specifically stated otherwise.
